Brad Renfro didn’t die from drug overdose, says ex

Actor’s ex-girlfriend says he was clean

Brad Renfro’s ex-girlfriend is certain that his death last Tuesday at the age of 25 wasn’t drug-related.

Rachele Leeper – who dated the former child star on and off for 6 years – is convinced that he died from natural causes.

‘I don’t have the coroner’s report, but, from what I was told by family members, he died in his sleep – it wasn’t because he had been partying from drugs or anything,’ she tells WENN.

‘I can’t say about whether drinking was involved, but I can say that it wasn’t drugs.’

Brad had a history of drug problems and at the time of his death was on 3-years' probation for attempting to possess heroin.

An autopsy was conducted on his body last Thursday but the findings have yet to be revealed.
