Amy Winehouse to be monitored 24 hours a day

Family hire professional help after drugs shame

Amy Winehouse has been placed under 24-hour surveillance following the emergence of footage appearing to show her smoke crack.

The shocking video shows the singer, 24, inhaling a substance from a glass pipe and admitting she had taken 6 Valium tablets.

Her family are said to be distraught and want her to be accompanied by a trusted pal or a hired professional at all times.

Amy’s dad Mitch may even move into Amy's house in Bow, East London himself to help her get clean.

‘Mitch realises this is crunch time. Amy either chooses life or oblivion,’ a source tells The Sun.

‘The family have been keeping a very close eye on her for weeks now. In fact her brother was with her just one hour before she was filmed smoking crack. But Mitch now realises that even this is not enough.

'She needs 24-hour surveillance.'
