Singer visits clinic for 2 hours with dad Mitch

Amy Winehouse visited a rehab clinic last night amid claims that police are investigating video footage of her allegedly taking crack cocaine.

The troubled singer’s dad Mitch, 57, urged her to attend top London clinic Edward House in Mill Hill, North-West London.

Amy was seen leaving the facility at 7pm, following a 2-hour stay.

Mitch reckons his daughter is now ready to clean up her act.

‘The video of Amy taking drugs may well be the best thing that has ever happened to her,’ he tells The Sun.

‘It’s nothing short of devastating - thinking she wants to destroy herself. She’ll be heartbroken about it all. But for all the hurt and pain, it may finally be the thing to focus her mind and convince her to get the help she needs to quit for good.’

But Amy’s spokesperson insists that she was merely going for a regular check-up.

'She has regular appointments with a doctor at the hospital and she will not be staying overnight,' he tells Metro.

Amy - who dyed her hair back to black yesterday - is expected to go ahead with a performance at French awards show NRJ this Saturday.
