Convicted paedophile is recovering in hospital
Sunday, 20 January 2008
Disgraced 70s rocker Gary Glitter suffered a heart attack in jail last Sunday – and could now be sent home on health grounds.
The singer, 63, - who is serving a 3-year sentence in a Vietnam prison for molesting 2 young girls – is currently recovering in Benh Vien hospital, under police guard.
'Mr Gadd suffered a heart attack,' a hospital nurse tells The News Of The World.
'He remains very frail and his blood pressure is still dangerously high. When he is well enough he will go back to prison but at the moment he is still a very sick man.'
The health scare may mean that Gary – real name Paul Gadd – will return to Britain to serve out the rest of his sentence because Vietnamese prison officials don't want him to die in their custody.
Gary - who was sentenced in March 2006 - is not due for release until August.
