SHOCK! Eddie Murphy splits from Tracey Edmonds after 2 weeks

Actor releases statement saying that they'll 'remain friends'

Eddie Murphy has split from Tracey Edmonds – just 2 weeks after they had a 'spiritual' wedding.

On New Year's Day, the couple were were joined in a marriage ceremony on a private island off Bora Bora.

But because they do not reside in French Polynesia, the service wasn't legally binding.

Eddie, 46, and Tracey, 40, planned to have a formal ceremony in the US – but are reported to have changed their minds after having a series of rows in the past week.

Eddie's rep released a statement last night saying the couple have 'decided to remain friends' and stating that there will be no official ceremony.

At least they won't have to go through a sticky and expensive divorce.
