Atonement is also being tipped to take home the Best Film, Best British Film, Best Director and Adapted Screenplay gongs.

Other nominees to look out for are Joel and Ethan Coen, whose film No Country For Old Men has scooped 9 nominations, including one for Best Film.

Oil drama There Will Be Blood is also vying for gold in 9 categories, with star Daniel Day Lewis expected to take home the Best Actor award. He will be up against George Clooney for Michael Clayton.

And Cate Blanchett is also looking award friendly with 2 acting nominations. She's up for Best Actress for Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Best Supporting Actress categories for I'm Not There.
