Tom Cruise: Scientology is a blast

Actor says believing our bodies have bits of dead alien in them is fun

Tuesday, 15 January 2008

Tom Cruise has gone on record to defend Scientology and explain 'the wonders' the cult's belief system has given to his life.

In a Scientology promotional video that ended up on YouTube - but keeps disappearing - the Hollywood star talks with urgency about the benefits of accepting founder L. Ron Hubbard's theories.

Scientologists believe that 75 million years ago evil galactic ruler Xenu brought trillions of aliens to Earth and killed them. The souls of these dead space aliens now inhabit our bodies.

'Now is the time...' says Tom, 45. 'Being a Scientologist, people are turning to you, so you better know it, you better know it and if you don’t, go and learn it, but don’t pretend you know it. It’s like we’re here to help.'

But the Hollywood star acknowledges that becoming a Scientologist won't be easy.

'I have to tell you something,' he continues, 'it is rough and tumble, and it’s wild and woolly, and it’s a blast, it’s a blast, it really is fun because, dammit, there is nothing better than the going out there and fighting the fight and suddenly you see things are better.'

Hmmmm...
