Johnny Depp has donated £1m of his own money to Great Ormond Street Hospital as a way of saying thank you for saving his daughter's life.
Lily-Rose, 8, was treated for kidney failure after she contracted E.coli in March last year.
The little girl's condition was so serious that Johnny, 43, and partner Vanessa Paradis, 34, feared she might die.
'But the magic is that she pulled through beautifully,' he says. 'Great Ormond Street was terrific, a great hospital.
'It was the most frightening thing we have ever been through. It was hell.'
Johnny has been based in Richmond, Surrey, while filming Sweeney Todd. The new movie premiered in the UK last week and the Hollywood star wore a retro-style outfit on the red carpet.
Ex-girlfriend Kate Moss, 33, is reported to have advised him to wear a high-waisted tweed suit for bash.
‘Johnny asked her for some fashion advice for the premiere, which resulted in this curious suit,’ a source claims in the Daily Star.
Mmmm, now why would he do that?
