Sean Bean and Georgina Sutcliffe call off wedding

Actor cancels ceremony just hours before guests arrive

Sean Bean and Georgina Sutcliffe called off their extravagant wedding last week - just 24 hours before the ceremony.

The couple were due to marry in a registery office at Old Marylebone Town Hall but abruptly cancelled - blaming their hectic private lives.

'We've just rescheduled because of personal issues and work commitments,' Georgina, 29, insists.

'Sean and I have just got back from Rome and I'm absolutely shattered. He's here with me at the moment. We do intend to get married shortly.'

But despite their protests, friends and family who travelled down to London for the bash have been left bewildered.

'I don't know why. He hasn't said anything to us,' Sean's dad Brian tells the Mail On Sunday.

The actor, 48 - who has been married 3 times before - had originally booked a plush £3000-a-night suite for their wedding night at Brown's Hotel in Mayfair.

A spokesman for the star declined to comment.
