Johnny Depp wants to play Michael Jackson in film of his life

Actor thinks he would perfect for role of troubled singer

Johnny Depp has revealed he wants to play Michael Jackson in a film about the fallen singer’s life.

The actor, 44, who starred in Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, denies he incorporated some of the eccentric star's mannerisms into the part.

‘I have heard that I based Willy Wonka on Michael Jackson before, but no, that was not my plan, I wish I had thought of that though,’ he says.

‘But there is still time to play him. He might get up to old tricks again and maybe there will be a TV movie about him.’
