Richard Madeley denies Strictly Come Dancing rumours

TV host will not be appearing on BBC show

Richard Madeley has denied he’s to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Last week it was reported that the TV host was considering getting his dancing shoes on for the BBC programme.

But now Richard, 51, has set the record straight – insisting that his busy schedule won’t allow it

‘The trouble is I do think it’s the best entertainment show on the box and I would get a kick out of taking part,’ he writes in his Daily Express column.

‘But I genuinely don’t have the time, or, rather more importantly, the latent ability.’

Richard does admit that show bosses had approached him, though.

‘I’ve regretfully passed on Strictly’s kind invitations to dance like I’ve never danced before,’ he writes. ‘They’re not wrong – I have never danced before.’
