SHOCK! Carla Bruni wears same ring as French President's ex-wife

Nicholas Sarkozy's fiancée sports identical Dior Cupidion design

French President Nicholas Sarkozy appears to have given his fiancée Carla Bruni the same diamond ring as he gave ex-wife Cécilia.

The supermodel, 40, was seen showing off the £13,000 Dior Cupidon creation last week but seemed oblivious it was the identical design worn by Nicolas's second wife in May last year.

French magazine Gala were the first to notice the blunder - and reckon the frisky 52-year-old is taking a big risk.

'Perhaps he is incredibly forgetful, or perhaps his secretary bought Carla's ring without showing it to him,' the mag reports.

'Either way it is a pretty clumsy thing to do and has probably left both women feeling rather put out.'

And to make things worse, the heart-shaped diamond and white gold design was created by Cecilia's best friend, jewellery designer Victoire de Castellane.

It is thought Nicholas will marry Carla - who is rumoured to be pregnant - before his March visit to the UK.
