Cheryl Cole: We want a BRIT this year
Cheryl Cole has revealed that Girls Aloud are desperate to get their mitts on a BRIT Award at this year’s ceremony.
The pop babes – who released their fifth album in 2007 – have never won one of the coveted awards, and Cheryl, 24, insists her feisty bandmates aren’t fussy about which gong they get.
‘We want to win a BRIT in 2008,’ Cheryl tells the Daily Star. ‘It’s really as simply as that.
‘Best Band, Best Album – it doesn’t matter which, but it would be nice to have one on the mantelpiece because that’s the one everyone wants.’
Chezza will find out if the Girls are in with a shout when the full nominations are announced in London on 14 January.
