Singer says he won't be appearing on stage any time soon

Robbie Williams has confirmed he won’t be making a new album or touring this year.

The pop legend, 33, has been taking time out of the spotlight and is living in LA where his career has taken a back seat.

‘There definitely won’t be a tour any time soon,’ he says. ‘F**k that, the last one nearly killed me.

‘There will be some kind of something this year. I might just put the B-sides to the next album out first online. And then put an album out in 2009.’

But the singer admits he loves his American life and isn’t sure he wants to be thrust back into the British media frenzy.

‘The more time I spend away from public life the more I like it,’ he writes on his online blog.

‘Unfortunately I have a massive competitive urge which wants me to put out 3 albums a year.’
