Bookies take bets on which star will be locked up first in 2008

Troubled Amy Winehouse is the celebrity most likely to be sent to jail in 2008, according to the bookies.

William Hill is taking bets on the first famous face to be banged up this year, and the 24-year-old singer is evens joint favourite with wild rocker Pete Doherty.

Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan – who recently spent just 84 minutes inside – is 12-1 third favourite, fallen pop princess Britney Spears is 16-1 and drink-driving jailbird Paris Hilton comes in at 33-1.

‘2007 was a year to forget for many celebrities,’ Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams tells the Daily Star. ‘We have seen Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Kiefer Sutherland all end up behind bars.

‘We don’t want to see any more jailed in 2008, but it’s a near certainty someone will be.’
