Sporty will be performing with Spice Girls

Mel C will celebrate her birthday on stage with the Spice Girls this weekend.

The group are due to perform at London's 02 Arena when she turns 34 on Saturday.

Bandmates Posh, Scary, Baby and Ginger are promising to mark the occasion in style.

‘I'm really looking forward to the show because it's my birthday,’ says Sporty. ‘I've never performed on my birthday before and I can't think of a better way to spend the evening.'’

Fans are being given a chance to write messages for Mel in a special book she’ll receive on stage on the big day.

And Mel reckons the birthday will usher in a great year for the Spice Girls.

‘Although we all really needed some rest, we couldn't wait to get back on stage,’ she writes on her blog.

‘The first show back was quite scary after not performing for a few days, but it was a blinder. In fact, the show has got even more exciting. We are having a ball and our audiences seem to be getting better and better.’
