Natalie Imbruglia and hubby split

Pop star and rocker give joint statement

Natalie Imbruglia and Daniel Johns issued a joint statement this morning saying they are divorcing.

‘While we are very sad that our marriage has ended,’ they say, ‘we want to make it clear that our parting is amicable and we remain friends.’

The news comes just after the couple's 4th anniversary – they wed in Australia on New Year’s Eve in 2003.

Natalie, 32, and Silverchair frontman Daniel, 28, explain that their work commitments put a strain on the relationship.

‘Our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary,' continues the statement.

'We have simply grown apart.’
