Jake Gyllenhaal takes Reese Witherspoon's kids hiking

Actor bonds with girlfriend’s children

Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon's relationship appears to be getting serious.

The couple were snapped with 31-year-old Reese's kids going trick or treating for Halloween and have now been seen out hiking.

Jake, 27, gets on well with Ava, 8, and 4-year-old Deacon – whose father is actor Ryan Phillippe.

The couple took them to a Malibu park on 30 December.

‘Reese's kids have really taken a shine to Jake,’ a source tells Us Weekly.

‘They were laughing and joking with him and Reese. At one point, Jake even carried Deacon on his shoulders as they hiked along a trail. They all looked very happy together.’

Reese and Jake met on the set of Rendition last year but did not go public with their romance until October.
