Mel C: My Spice Girl hell

Sporty admits her biggest fear was to be called chubby by the tabloids

Mel C has spoken out about suffering from an eating disorder when she was first with the Spice Girls.

‘My biggest, biggest fear... was that the papers were going to say I'd put on weight,’ admits Sporty, 33.

‘I wasn't eating properly and I was overexercising. I was very skinny.’

Geri Halliwell, 35, has also confessed that being in the spotlight made her self-conscious about her size.

‘I was called Podge Spice,’ Ginger laments. ‘I was the fat, dumpy one.’

Geri's dramatic yo-yo figure has been much publicised and she's definitely not chunky any more.
