Angelina Jolie had cold feet over her first adoption

Actress feared she would not be a good mother

Angelina Jolie almost pulled of adopting her first child for fear of not being a good enough mum.

The 32-year-old Hollywood star adopted 6-year-old Maddox from a Cambodian orphanage in 2002.

‘They put him in my arms and I stared at him and I started crying and he smiled,’ she tells Hollywood TV.

‘I hadn’t held children before in my life. I was always considered so dark and I thought maybe I shouldn’t be someone’s mom because I’m not so sure about myself.’

Angelina overcame her anxiety and is now a mother of 4. She adopted a further two children, Zahara, 2 and Pax Thien, 3, and has a daughter, Shiloh, 1, with lover Brad Pitt, 43.
