Maureen Nolan loses her battle with Alzheimer's

Maureen Nolan, mum to the 70s singing group the Nolans, has died.

Youngest daughter Coleen Nolan is distraught.

‘Although her mum's death wasn't unexpected, it's still been shocking for her,’ a spokeswoman for Coleen, 42, tells the Daily Mirror.

Coleen is taking time off her busy work schedule - including her role as panelist on ITV talk show Loose Woman - to grieve.

In the past Coleen, ex-wife of Shane Richie, has spoken of her mum’s battle with Alzeimer's Disease.

‘Her mind has deteriorated so much that she is barely recognisable as the woman I grew up adoring,’ she said.

‘I can't stand to see her like this, she has no quality of life.’
