Rhydian Roberts receives letter from Prime Minister

X Factor runner-up can count Gordon Brown as one of his fans

Rhydian Roberts has received a letter from Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

His mum Angela, 52, says the PM sent the note to Rhyd after he lost The X Factor final to Scottish teenager Leon Jackson.

She's keeping the full content of the missive a secret.

‘Rhydian was very surprised to get the personal note from the Prime Minister wishing him well,’ she tells the Daily Mirror.

Media watchdog Ofcom is investigating claims from Rhydian’s fans that phonelines were jammed when they called to vote for him.

But in case Rhyd thinks he's the PM's favourite, it’s also believed that Gordon wrote to Leon, 18.

Downing Street declined to comment.
