Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie take the kids cycling in New Orleans

The Hollywood stars celebrate Brad's birthday on wheels

Brad Pitt turned 44 on 18 December and decided to celebrate by going cycling.

He and Angelina Jolie have a home in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, and like the city because they don't get hassled there.

'We have some semblance of real family life,' he explains. 'People have been very, very gracious with us. If we're on the front deck, people go by and say, "Hi". Then they go on their way, very friendly.'

Brad obviously felt comfortable taking son Maddox, 6, on an outing in a trailer, pulled behind a pushbike he was cycling.

The little boy was clearly having a lot of fun.

Last year Brad launched a project called Make It Right, to construct new housing in New Orleans which was badly hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
