Babyshambles frontman dashes off stage to be sick
Wednesday, 19 December 2007
Pete Doherty was taken ill halfway through a Babyshambles gig in London last night and passed out briefly before being sick.
The singer - who arrived at the venue wearing two thick coats and complaining of flu - rushed off stage in the middle of performing at the Rhythm Factory.
‘He’s vomiting, he’s passed out on the sofa now,’ bandmate Drew McConnell told NME backstage.
‘It’s his complex, it’s the same thing that meant he couldn’t go to the NME Awards show the other night. The poor sod. It’s not his fault at all.’
Last week Pete failed to turn up at the NME Awards Launch Party – after being diagnosed with extreme fatigue.
A spokesperson for the recovering 29-year-old later confirmed he had ‘seen a doctor and was fine, but exhausted’.
