Jennifer Saunders to be next Doctor Who?

She’s tipped as first female Time Lord in one-off special

Jennifer Saunders

Jennifer Saunders is reportedly going to be the next Doctor Who.

The comedian, 49, is being lined up to replace David Tennant, 36, as the first female Time Lord.

But she will only appear in a one-off special.

‘She’s in the running and we all think she would be fantastic,’ a source tells The Sun.

David is expected to quit the BBC show in 2009.

Catherine Tate also starred in a one-off special before being signed up as the Doctor's sidekick.

The new series starring the comedy star has yet to air but she announced last week that she won't continue in the role.
