SEE VIDEO Mel C: Geri Halliwell could have really f****d things up

Sporty reveals all about Ginger’s departure from the Spice Girls

Mel C, Posh and Geri

Mel C has spoken out about Geri Halliwell leaving the Spice Girls in 1998 – admitting she’s still bitter about it.

Sporty Spice, 33, says she was fuming with Ginger because she could have destroyed Girl Power. ‘She could have really f****d things up for us,’ she reveals.

Mel was relieved the fans didn’t leave them after Geri’s departure.

‘Luckily, you know, the fans were cool,’ says Sporty in TV interview for a documentary about the reunion tour, due to be aired this month. ‘They said, “We still want to see the Spice Girls”.’

In the revealing show, Geri, 35, also lifts the lid on why she left the group.

‘I just felt like the band had got so big, and the girls were almost like they didn't need me anymore, really,’ she says.

‘I definitely felt very redundant. Like the wheels were turning whether I was there or not.'
