Tina Turner refuses to pay tribute to Ike

Singer has nothing to say about Ike Turner's death this week

Tina Turner has refused to pay tribute to ex-husband Ike after his death at the age of 76 on Wednesday.

She divorced him in 1978, claiming that he was physicially abusive and unfaithful.

Ike - who struggled with a cocaine habit - denied the allegations but admitted in his autobiography, 'Sure, I've slapped Tina... There have been times when I punched her to the ground without thinking. But I never beat her.'

After leaving the marriage without a penny, Tina, 62, rebuilt a successful solo career.

‘Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today,’ spokeswoman Michele Schweitzer told the Daily Mirror.

‘She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made.’
