Pop siblings Same Difference were eliminated first from The X Factor final tonight.

Sean Smith, 21, and sister Sarah, 18, desperately wanted to triumph but surprised everyone - especially Louis Walsh - by getting as far as they did.

The Portsmouth duo – who mentor Simon Cowell once described as ‘the most annoying pair of people’ - did their best but Leon and Rhydian were just too strong to compete with.

Sean and Sarah teamed up with Jason Donovan for a dazzling rendition of the Joseph hit Any Dream Will Do to go out with a flourish.
