Britney Spears says she's too sick to face drugs quiz

Troubled singer fails to attend LA court

Britney Spears failed to turn up to court yesterday to answer questions about her alleged drink and drugs abuse because she was ill.

‘I was told of a general [medical] condition, and [Britney] felt she couldn't attend,’ Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan explained.

Britney, 26 – who is battling ex-husband Kevin Federline, 29, for custody of her two kids Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 - is said to be in low spirits.

‘She's sick, both physically and high anxiety. Millions of press outside,’ pal Sam Lufti told People.com in an email. ‘It's too much.’

But while she may have narrowly escaped a grilling this time, Kev’s lawyer is determined Brit will give evidence at some point in the near future.

‘She’s going to show at a later date,' Mark Vincent Kaplan tells Metro. ‘I have to evaluate that with my client.’

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old has been voted the queen of this year’s fashion disasters by a panel of celebrity hairdressers and model scouts.
