Alex Curran has spoken out about the raid by masked men on her house in Formby, Merseyside.
On Tuesday night at 9.30pm, 4 burglars are believed to have hammered down a back door at her £3m mansion before seizing thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and 2 car keys.
And now Alex, 25 – who was at home with a female pal and daughters Lilly-Ella, 3, and Lexie, 1 - says she feared for her life as she went to investigate the disturbance.
‘It was absolutely terrifying, a horrendous experience,’ she explains.
‘Lilly and Lexie were my biggest concern. Thankfully, they're fine as they managed to sleep through the whole thing.
'I'm still feeling really shaken up and too traumatised about the whole thing to talk about it much. I just don't want to relive it all.
‘Fortunately we're all OK. Now it's all in the hands of the police.’
The men, wearing dark clothing with hoods or balaclavas, also trashed several rooms in search of booty.
Now Alex and hubby Steven Gerrard, 27 – who was away in France for Liverpool's Champions League clash with Marseille – have decided to boost security.
‘We've already got a lot of security here at the house,’ she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘But we'll definitely step it up after this so, please God, nothing like this ever happens again.’
The couple’s house is currently being searched for forensic evidence by police.
