Paris Hilton investigated over animal welfare

Heiress to be quizzed about her 17 dogs

Paris Hilton is reportedly being investigated by animal services after revealing she owns over a dozen dogs.

‘I have 17,’ the heiress told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week. ‘I built a little thing called a doggie mansion in my back yard. It’s a replica of my house, with a chandelier and the same furniture. They all live in there.’

Now LA's Department of Animal Services is chasing Paris because it's illegal to have more than 3 dogs at any property – with the exception of kennels and breeders.

Officials are believed to have paid her a visit on Tuesday, but 26-year-old Paris wasn't in, reports TMZ.

The department was alerted by bosses of an animal rescue organisation who saw her interview.
