Tina Turner's ex husband Ike dies

Soul legend passes away at the age of 76

Tina Turner's former husband Ike has died at his home in California.

The US soul legend was 76.

Tina - who was born Anna Mae Bullock in Tennessee - started to work with the talented musician, credited with being a pioneer of rock and roll, in 1958 when she was 18.

They became man and wife a year later but the marriage was stormy.

Ike Turner's cocaine habit made his behaviour erratic and Tina finally fled in 1976 accusing Ike of physical abuse

Their divorce was finalised in 1978.

Before the split, they produced a string of hits, including A Fool In Love, It's Gonna Work Out Fine, and River Deep Mountain High.
