Kate Moss misses party she organised for Shane MacGowan

Supermodel is a no-show after being grounded in New York

Kate Moss failed to turn up to Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan's early 50th birthday bash – despite organising the event.

The supermodel, 33, had even planned to perform a song at the do in North London.

‘She was set to sing Happy Birthday Marilyn Monroe-style,’ says a pal. ‘A blonde wig had even been ordered.’

But Kate was stuck in New York after missing a flight.

Guests at the party included Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner and Matt Helders, The View, and Madness.

But ex Pete Doherty, 29, wasn’t invited, despite being close to Shane, whose real birthday falls on Christmas Day.

There was some good news for Kate, though. She’s found a new nanny - pal Sadie Frost's mum.

Mary Davidson will look after Lila Grace, 5, until Kate finds a full-time replacement.

Her current nanny, Sadie's younger sister Jade, leaves in January.
