Forgotten man Steve Brookstein jokes about new champ Leon Jackson
Monday, 17 December 2007
Forgotten X Factor winner Steve Brookstein has taken a jokey swipe at Leon Jackson – labelling the new champ ‘crud’.
Talented Steve won the first series of the hit show in 2004, but split with Simon Cowell just 8 months later.
And the 39-year-old – whose most recent gig was at a jazz club held at a branch of Pizza Express in Kent – decided to take a humorous pop at 18-year-old Leon.
‘I just can’t believe it. Leon’s such a crud,’ he quipped, reports the Daily Record.
‘I’m sure he’s a nice guy but there are so many talented people out there who don’t get a chance to be heard.’
Steve - who wished Leon well - also reckons Simon and fellow judge Sharon Osbourne don't have a clue when it comes to music.
‘A week ago Simon Cowell called a trombone a trumpet, and a few weeks ago Sharon called a five-part harmony a four-part harmony,’ he added.
‘I just think people should know what they’re getting.’
Um, yeah, but they're both music biz millionaires...they must be doing something right.
