BRITs to honour Macca’s music legacy
Monday, 10 December 2007
Sir Paul McCartney is to receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music prize at the 2008 Brit Awards.
He has been voted for by his music peers and will be honoured for his solo success at the ceremony to be held in February at London’s Earls Court.
Macca, 65, already holds an Outstanding Brit Award for his work with The Beatles.
Ringo Starr is being lined-up to hand him the gong.
It will be the first time Sir Paul has been to the Brits, and he’s expected to close the show with a medley of hits.
Ozzy Osbourne, 58, and wife Sharon, 55, will be hosting the show.
