Dannii Minogue: I had a temper like Sharon's - but I’ve calmed down

Dannii Minogue says she used to have temper tantrums like fellow X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, but forced herself to change.

The 36-year-old singer says she's worked hard to calm down.

‘God, I thought I wore my heart on my sleeve, but Sharon is…immediate,' says Dannii.

'I used to be like that and react the way she does, but I soon came to realise that I didn’t like being that way. So it’s something I’ve worked on.'

The Aussie starlet is tight-lipped about reports Mrs O once reduced her to tears, but reveals that when she first joined the hit show, judges Sharon and Louis Walsh assumed she’d be a pushover.

‘They came up to me and they said, full on, “You’re a young pretty girl, kind of dumb, you’ll just sit there saying: "Oh, I love everything, aren’t you nice",' she tells Weekend magazine.

‘I said, “Well, why did Simon hire me then?” Simon could see I wasn’t like that.

And it’s mentor Simon Cowell whom Dannii credits with making 2007 a year to remember.

‘Simon could have asked anyone, but he chose me. I thank my lucky stars every day for this job. It feels like a good year.’
