Dad: Amy Winehouse is monitored all the time

Mitch Winehouse responds to mum’s letter

Amy Winehouse's dad has revealed she is monitored around the clock.

Mitch, 57, has spoken out after Amy's mum Janis wrote an open letter to her daughter this weekend, telling her she needs to spend more time within the bosom of her family.

But the taxi driver has slammed his ex and insists he sees Amy all the time.

‘It is absolute rubbish to suggest that no one has been in touch with Amy,’ he tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I've seen her five times myself last week.

'We're getting sick of the sight of each other, we are seeing each other that much.

‘Amy is monitored all the time. She is with trusted people who care for her and look out for her. We are all encouraging and helping Amy at the minute and that is what is most important.’

In her letter, concerned Janis, 52, pleads with Amy to stay with her so she can get her fit again.

The troubled star, 24, has been living with friends since hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, was arrested on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and held in custody.

Mitch and Janis split when Amy was 9.
