Former supermodel spills the beans about eating disorders and airbrushing
Thursday, 6 December 2007
Janice Dickinson claims the modelling industry is just a glamorous facade and that many models have eating disorders and booze or drug problems.
'Just last month alone, I saw [the models] going back and forth to the bathrooms, dabbing their mouths after hurling a meal. It's really tragic,' she says.
'It's a horrible, horrible addiction.'
Former supermodel Janice, 52, insists that Kate Moss's much-publicised cocaine shame was hardly unique.
'I'm a former cocaine and alcohol abuser myself. It went hand-in-hand with the industry.'
'They wanted me to go and interview Kate for one of those shows in New York. I said: "No, leave her alone."'
The I'm A Celeb star also worries that photos of models set an unrealistic standard of beauty.
'Every magazine cover you see is completely airbrushed. We've been giving young girls and boys a sense of falseness,' she tells OK!
'The lighting is made to fool the public. I've been fooling the public for years.'
