The Spice Girls have been accused of miming in the first gig of their world tour which kicked off on Sunday in Vancouver, Canada.
It’s claimed they lip-synched throughout the 2-hour set.
A Spice Girls rep denies the claims, but does admit that Posh, Ginger, Sporty, Baby and Scary use a backing track to make sure their voices stay in tune.
‘All the girls sang live,’ he says. ‘There is a click track for the band to keep them in, which is standard, but all of the girls’ vocals were live.’
The booster recording also gives added power to the girls’ voices.
‘It’s standard procedure to have extra vocals on a computer for these kind of highly-choreographed tours,’ a source tells the Daily Star. ‘Kylie and Britney do it. But the girls are still singing live over the top.’
Meanwhile, Mel C, 33, has revealed she won’t be performing her trademark back-flip on the tour because of a dodgy knee.
‘I had a few worries with my knee at the start of the show,’ she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘It was telling me: “You're too old for that!”’
