Comedian tells Her Majesty that he fancies Zara Phillips
Tuesday, 4 December 2007
Russell Brand couldn't stop himself talking dirty in front of the Queen at the recording of the Royal Variety Performance last night.
‘I am respectful - when I lick a stamp I always close my eyes,’ he told Her Majesty at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.
But the comedian, 32, also boasted of his sexual prowess. ‘Are you aware I am s***ger of the year?’ he asked. ‘Not that I’m suggesting a demo, clearly.’
Russell admitted that he has the hots for the monarch's granddaughter Zara Phillips.
‘I have been thinking about Zara an awful lot lately,' he boasted. 'I was wondering if she is single, that's all. There would be a courtship of course - and then probably a court martial.’
Later, Russell joked that the Queen flirted with him when they met after his performance.
‘She said she enjoyed my act very much and she wished it had been me who broke into her bedroom,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.
The star-studded event also included performances from Britain's Got Talent star Paul Potts, 36, Bon Jovi, Seal and Michael Ball.
The Royal Variety Performance airs on ITV1 this Sunday at 8pm.
