Actress slams diet culture
Tuesday, 4 December 2007
Jennifer Love Hewitt has hit out at the size zero obsession – saying the skinny look isn’t beautiful.
The actress, 28, insists she is happy being a US size 2, which is a UK size 6.
‘Size 2 is not fat!’ she writes on her MySpace page. ‘Nor will it ever be. And being a size zero doesn't make you beautiful.
‘I know what I look like and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.’
Jen was responding to the emergence of unflattering images of her in a bikini on holiday last week.
She was accused of piling on the pounds during a romantic break in Hawaii with her new fiancé, actor Ross McCall.
‘What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles,’ she writes.
‘To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini – put it on and stay strong.’

I am shocked! A size 6 isn't really healthy for a lot of women either - and I struggle to see how a woman who is a size six can be judged as "curvy" and can be giving advice on being proud of your curves! If she was at least a UK size 10 maybe her advice would (pardon the pun) carry some weight!
