Royal has giving up smoking
Monday, 3 December 2007
Prince Harry has given up smoking.
The playboy, 23, has told pals he's been off the cancer sticks for weeks.
Harry unsuccessfully tried to quit in January to prepare himself for the July smoking ban. But that only lasted a few days.
But now he appears to have weaned himself off cigarettes by swapping to 'lights' first.
'It's still early days and he has failed before, but this time he's determined,' says a pal. 'He feels he is finally winning the battle.'
Harry is reported to have started smoking at the age of 14 when he attended Eton. At one point, he was thought to have been on 20-a-day - much to the disgust of dad Prince Charles.
'Harry used to feel really guilty,' the pal tells the Daily Mirror. 'And Charles is so pleased that he seems serious about quitting for good this time.'
But pals reckon giving up permanently will be tougher than Harry reckons. Girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 22, also likes the odd puff.
