Kelly Brook quits Strictly Come Dancing

Glamour model pulls out of contest after death of her father

Kelly Brook has left Strictly Come Dancing following the death of her dad on Monday.

The actress had vowed to carry on rehearsals but her sadness was too much to bear.

'Kelly Brook has taken the decision to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing following the loss of her father this week,' says a BBC spokeswoman.

'Kelly has done some training as she had hoped to continue with the show in his memory. However, understandably, she has found it too difficult.'

Kelly, 28, and her partner Brendan Cole were favourites to win the talent contest.

'She has been a fantastic part of the programme and will be sorely missed,' the spokeswoman continued.

'Everyone on the show who would also like to express their deepest sympathy to Kelly and her family at this difficult time.'

Kelly's father Kenneth, 57, died after a long battle with cancer.
