Kelly Brook's father dies but she battles on

Strictly Come Dancing star will perform in memory of her father Ken Parsons

Kelly Brook is ‘devastated’ after the death of her father on Monday, but vows to battle on in Strictly Come Dancing.

Dad Ken Parsons, 57, passed away peacefully at home in Rochester, Kent, following a battle with throat cancer.

‘She is devastated,’ says a close pal. ‘Her family are very close knit and she was extremely close to her dad.’

The 28-year-old actress will dedicate this weekend’s double routine to Ken.

‘Kelly will continue her work commitments to the best of her ability as her father Kenneth Parsons would have wanted,’ her spokesman tells the Daily Mirror.

‘Ken was an incredibly brave man. He was adamant that Kelly continue in Strictly Come Dancing because he knew how much she enjoyed doing it.’

This is the hardest week for the contestants as they take on two dances instead of one.

Kelly, who appears with Strictly regular Brendan Cole, is due to dance the cha cha and foxtrot.
