Becks issues an apology to disappointed young fans

David Beckham has issued an apology after accidentally speeding past a group of young leukaemia sufferers in Australia.

The children were waiting to greet the soccer star outside his hotel in Sydney but Becks failed to notice them because they were blocked from by paparazzi.

The 32-year-old has now promised the kids ‘a day they won’t forget’ to make up for the oversight.

‘I apologise, but like I said, I didn’t actually see them,’ he says.

Goldenballs plans to make amends at a sold-out LA Galaxy match tomorrow night. The children will be his guests of honour.
