Spice Girls: We haven't cancelled Buenos Aires

Email sent to fans is damned as 'fake'

Spice Girls

Mystery surrounds an email sent to fans saying the Spice Girls were cancelling a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Posh, Baby, Scary, Ginger and Sporty are planning to play the city in February.

'The Spice Girls would like to make it clear that they have not cancelled their Buenos Aires show,' a spokesperson tells BBC News.

'A story has appeared on several websites that includes a fake email and competition from the girls. The fake email claims that due to the demand so far in the UK and the US this show is going to be cancelled.

'The email goes onto say that they will be running some competitions for their South American fans to travel to the UK to watch a show.

'This is not the case and this email is 100% unofficial and has nothing to so with the Spice Girls.'

On 2 December, the girls start their world tour in Vancouver, then head to San Jose, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago and Boston.

Their first date in the UK will be in Manchester and they'll complete 17 nights at the O2 in London before heading back across the Atlantic to entertain fans in Boston, Toronto and New York.
