Supermodel barred from using airline after pre-flight row last week
Tuesday, 8 April 2008
Naomi Campbell has been banned from flying on British Airways flights after allegedly spitting in a police officer's face during an incident at Heathrow Airport last week.
The supermodel is reported to have become angry and upset after being told one of her bags had not been put on the Terminal 5 flight to LA - because it was too heavy.
‘Banning her will send out a worldwide signal that such behaviour is totally unacceptable,’ says a BA insider. ‘The decision was not taken lightly. She is a valued customer. But it is unthinkable for BA to talk about the safety of staff and passengers being our priority, then let her off.’
Naomi is hoping the decision will be overturned.
‘She has been flying with BA for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably,’ her spokesperson tells the Daily Mirror.
Naomi, 37, is currently on bail pending further enquiries after being arrested on suspicion of assault. She spent 7 hours in police custody after the incident.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg, 36, has been allowed to appeal against a ruling that banned him from entering the UK, following an incident at Heathrow in 2006.
