Ugly Betty's Hilda: I'm desperate for a baby

Ana Ortiz can't wait to start a family with her husband

Ana Ortiz gets on great with young actor Mark Indelicato, who plays her on-screen son in Ugly Betty, but she longs for a real child of her own.

'Mark’s a remarkable little man. His family have to come out to LA with him and they’ve taken me under their wing,' she says.

'It’s like having a pretend son. The other day his mother and I were talking and when he shouted: "Mom!" We both turned around and said: "What?" I was like: "Oops, sorry!"'

Ana, 36, recently married musician Noah Lebenzon and her Ugly Betty pals travelled to Puerto Rico for the ceremony.

'It was brilliant,' she explains. 'It was like getting married in the Garden Of Eden, it was so lush and gorgeous.

'We’re thinking about having a family soon. Hopefully, next season it’ll be somewhere in the storyline – or I’ll have to be carrying a lot of boxes.'
