Amy Winehouse’s mum-in-law: Cancelling tour is the best thing

Georgette Civil wants singer to check into rehab

Amy Winehouse’s mum-in-law says she’s glad the singer has wound up her UK tour.

Georgette Civil, 42, reckons the 24-year-old will be able to concentrate on getting clean.

‘I’m so relieved,’ she says. ‘Cancelling is the best thing Amy could have done. Now she can concentrate on getting better and keeping her face clean.’

Georgette hopes Amy will now get professional help.

‘We will try and lean on her to get her into rehab. She knows she has to beat her drug addiction and now she has a chance.’

And Georgette has urged fans to be patient with Amy as, since Blake's arrest and imprisonment, she's been in a bad way.

‘Amy was in pieces,’ Georgette tells th Daily Star. ‘She doesn’t want to let her fans down but she has no choice. She has to look after herself first.'

The jazz diva's spokesman remained tight-lipped about whether she’ll be going to rehab.
