Ginger Spice regrets leaving band in 1998
Tuesday, 4 December 2007
Geri Halliwell has apologised for leaving the Spice Girls back in 1998.
Ginger, 35, walked out on the group just weeks before a planned US tour – so fans in the States never got the full Girl Power experience.
‘I would like to say a big sorry to all the fans... especially those in America,’ Geri told the audience at the group's comeback gig in Vancouver.
‘I walked out on you as well as the girls. You never got to see us as as five-piece... this is my opportunity to make it up to everyone. Thanks for the second chance.’
Posh, Baby, Sporty and Scary have accepted Ginger's apology.
‘All is forgiven, the five of us are back and ready to rock your world,’ says Mel B, 32.
And Mel C, 33, is also chuffed to be a fivesome again.
‘So much time has passed, it's just great to all be back together,’ Sporty tells the Daily Mirror.
‘We're five individuals and we get on better now than we ever did. We're also really excited that young people, who weren't around first time, are now listening to us. It's great.’
